Cobras Make History — Introducing Our First Senior Women’s Cricket Team!
The Corio Bay Sports Club is proud to announce that for the first time in club history, we will be entering a Senior Women’s Cricket team (Females 18+) in the upcoming Geelong Cricket Association season.This is a major milestone for CBSC and for women’s sport in our community. Cricket in the Greater Geelong region has a long and vibrant tradition — including a strong and growing female competition where players of all abilities can take the field, build skills, and be part of something special.
What This Means
For the first time ever, female cricketers at CBSC will have the opportunity to:
Represent the Cobras in the senior women’s competition for ages 18+
Play competitive matches as part of the Geelong Cricket Association’s women’s fixtures
Develop your game, make new friends, and be part of a supportive, inclusive sporting community
Grow pathways in women’s cricket, from club competition through to wider opportunities
Whether you’re an experienced cricketer, returning to the game, or new to club cricket — this team is for you. We’re committed to building a welcoming environment where players can enjoy the sport, improve their skills, and proudly wear the Cobras colours.
📅 Season Details
The team will compete throughout the full GCA women’s season, playing traditional formats of cricket across weekends.Matches typically range from 2 to 4 hours, depending on the grade and format, providing competitive cricket in a structured yet enjoyable setting.
